Welcome to homework routines!!! Please ensure that your child takes their homework in their baggy every morning as this is what we use to start our morning routine!! Thanks for your support with this!
Reading:
Two duotangs go home weekly for reading ( blue-poems, songs etc and yellow- sight words and vocab)
1) Baggy book (We did not change books this week, please ensure that your child is reading their book nightly)
2) There is no poem this week, instead, students can read the Thanksgiving vocab in <<la lecture>>
3) Sight words: beau-bebe We focus on 5/week in class and use those 5 to write sentences. You may study more if your child is ready and less if they are not. We will be adding in the exercise book "l'ecriture". These are sentences that we come up with together using this week's sight words. Have your child read you the sentences throughout the week to help ensure comprehension of the sight words. If they wish, they can add new sentences at home throughout the week. (I will not be checking to see if they added new sentences, this is however a great practice!) When looking at your child's writing please discuss the following:
1) capital letters at begining of sentence, for names and places
2) appropriate spacing (use magic finger to space words if necessary)
3) punctuation at the end of each sentence
Please see two sheets sent home regarding sight word and reading practice, place them somewhere safe where you can refer to them throughout the school year!
Writing: Writing worksheet (cut out word, glue them in correct order as modeled, write sentence and draw a picture to represent sentence)
